About Us
Discipline, Honor, Knowledge
A cadet’s journey at Qatar Leadership Academy can be described as a quest to seek the deepest possible understanding of the Academy’s motto: Discipline, Honor, and Knowledge.
Cadets are encouraged to explore new ideas and strive for excellence in all aspects of knowledge acquisition. This includes the use of critical thinking skills to inquire, learn and make reasoned, ethical judgments. QLA requires that every cadet has the discipline to persevere when facing difficulties while honoring his duties as a citizen of his country and the world.
In addition every cadet must have the discipline to build enough confidence in his learning to take learning risks and develop learning strategies, including the ability to evaluate himself and other cadets.
In addition every cadet must have the discipline to build enough confidence in his learning to take learning risks and develop learning strategies, including the ability to evaluate himself and other cadets.
Part of being a leader means cadets must be able to communicate individually or within a group. Cadets at QLA learn to express ideas confidently and creatively.
Each cadet is responsible for his own actions and learns to accept the consequences of such actions, whether this involves the gracious acceptance of praise or the dignified acceptance of punishment; the ability to do both requires discipline and a sense of honor.
Cadets are expected to make positive contributions to the lives of others and the environment. In order to do so in a meaningful way, each cadet at QLA is taught to develop an understanding of, and appreciation for, his culture, heritage and cultural values. Just as important is the development of understanding, appreciation and respect for the cultures of others.
All cadets are expected to act with honesty and integrity at all times, showing both compassion and respect for others.
